“Trusting in Christ”

God sent His most prized possession to earth, to die for our sins that separate us from Him, so that we could have everlasting life. Through our faith and repentance, we are justified before God. His forgiveness is a gift to us as an act of obedience to God. When you obey God’s commandments, when you love Him with all your heart, you will please Him. In John 14:23, it says that if we love Him we are going to obey His commandments and He will love us. Faithfullness is demonstrated by honoring the Word and acting on it. Growing in Holiness comes as one absorbs God’s Word constantly and makes it a part of their life. Reading the Bible is not only obtaining head knowledge, but developing an actual relationship with God. As you listen and obey, He makes you more like Him and the more you spend time in His word, He changes your attitude about life and how you act towards others. The Fruit of the Spirit helps keep your flesh under control. For example, instead of having a negative mindset, where you would find yourself living in fear, instead, you would have faith and hope of the future and have constant peace.
